Why ECAC ?

ECAC is a regulatory body established under Electronic Transaction Ordinance 2002 having enforcement powers to regulate electronic transactions in Public and Private Sectors. Besides grant and renewal of certificates to certification service providers including their cryptography services and security procedures, it monitors compliance, establish and manage the repository for certificates and digital documents.

Who is a Registered Information Security Auditor ?

An approved or certified Information Security Auditor holding a valid registration with the ECAC.

How to apply for the Registration of Information Security Auditor?

i. For an individual applicant, go to the Auditor Registration Form (FORM-A) under the Apply button.

ii. For a Company, go to the Information Security Auditor Registration Form (FORM-B) under the Apply button.

iii. For a Registered Partnership concern, go to the Registered Partnership Concern Form (FORM-C) under the Apply button.

What is the Fee structure of Auditors?
  • Application fee: Rs. 10,000/-
  • Registration fee for:

a. Individual: Rs. 50,000/-

b. Company: Rs. 200,000/-

c. Partnership concern: Rs. 100,000/-

What is the Expiry Span of Auditor’s Registration?

The registration shall expire at the completion of 01 year from the date of issuance of Certificate of Registration.

When should an Auditor apply for the renewal of Registration?

The Auditor should apply to the Council for renewal of its registration at least 60 days but not later than 30 days prior to the expiry of its registration.

Who is Accredited Certification Service Provider?

A Certification Service Provider accredited under the ETO to issue certificates for the use of its cryptography services.

How to apply for the Accreditation?

Application Requirements:

i. Review of legal documents available on website

ii. Submit the completed application form

iii. Challan payment

iv. Document’s review by Electronic Certification Accreditation Council

What is the Accreditation Fee?

i. Application processing Fee = Rs. 10,000/-

ii. Accreditation Fee = Rs. 500,000/-

What is the validity of Accreditation?

The validity of Accreditation is one year from the date of issuance of Accreditation certificate.

Is it necessary to get accredited by ECAC?

Yes, ECAC is a regulatory body established under Electronic Transaction Ordinance 2002 having enforcement powers to regulate the Electronic transactions in public and private sectors and to provide the accreditation of certification service providers.

What is the validity of Accreditation?

The validity of Accreditation is one year from the date of issuance of Accreditation certificate.

When should Certification Service Provider apply for the Renewal of Accreditation?

An Accredited Certification Service Provider may submit an application for renewal of its accreditation before 60 days prior to expiry of Accreditation Certificate in prescribed form and manner.

What is Certification Council?

The Electronic Certification Accreditation Council established under Section 18 of Electronic Transaction Ordinance (ETO) 2002.

What is Accreditation Certificate?

It means a certificate granted by the Certification Council to a Certification Service Provider.

What are Cryptography Services?

The services in relation to the transformation of contents of an electronic document from its original form to one that cannot be understood or decoded by any unauthorized person.

What is a Certificate?

A certificate issued by a Certification Service Provider for the purpose of confirming the authenticity or integrity or both, of the information contained therein, of an electronic document or of an electronic signature in respect of which it is issued.
